Ice Cream Wasted

I’m sure most people have heard of some type of ice cream/alcohol combination but did you know vegan alcohol infused ice cream existed?? As soon as I found out a place like this existed I wanted to know more about it immediately! Insert Ice Cream Wasted…but they are not your typical ice cream shop. You cannot just walk in and order ice cream, you must make a reservation to attend one of their tastings which is more of an experience. (read more about what to expect here on their website) Tastings cost $35-$45 per person depending if you book a general tasting or a themed tasting. I came across a Groupon for a general tasting for 2. I booked a reservation for a me and a friend for a girls night out. Scheduling was a bit difficult for us because we both work different days/times and spots filled up quickly but we were finally able to get a tasting scheduled for a Friday night! And it was definitely worth the wait!

Ice Cream Wasted recently moved to The Bishop Arts District

When we arrived the tables were already set up for us with beverages, utensils, napkins, cute decor plus edible waffle cones. There were 2 tables with approx 8-10 seats each. Although most people came in pairs or small groups we were encouraged to talk to and get to know others are our table.

We got to try 3 different flavor combinations that were created by Ice Cream Wasted’s owner, she creates new flavors and themes all the time and switches them up every month. Before our tasting got started the owner introduced herself and explained the flavors to us. They all sounded amazing and we could not wait to dig in!

White Fudge made with Stout from Texas Ale Project

Bubble Gum topped with Fruity Pebbles

Key Lime Rita made with Avion Tequila

This was definitely a very fun night out. My favorite flavor was the Bubble  Gum! I definitely want to go back to experience a themed tasting. Don’t forget to take a picture with the waffle cone wall while you are there!

Goat Yoga

Two words – Goat Yoga!!! I am sure you have heard of goat yoga by now! Yes, its a thing and it is one the latest fitness crazes. It may sound silly to some but it is meant to be fun!

Goat yoga events are popping up all over and tickets are getting harder and harder to purchase because they sell out with minutes of going on sale. I have seen pop up events in Dallas, Grapevine and Richardson and ticket prices vary from $20 – $40.

I was super excited when I found out my friend Gaby was going to be teaching a class! The event was put on by Haley, owner of Deep Ellum Yoga and it was held at the Texas Ale Project. Due to how popular goat yoga is I couldn’t believe I was not able to find anyone who was able to wanted to go with me so I ended up taking my dad! Turned out to be the perfect decision! My evening turned into a daughter/dad date. He enjoyed watching just as much as I enjoyed the clas plus I had my own personal photog for the evening!

Gaby Pusateri and Haley Capri

Goat yoga is not your typical yoga, we actually didn’t do that much yoga……….. Its kind of hard to concentrate when you have 20 cute baby goats running around because they are distracting but in a good way. We were pre-warned to expect to have FUN and that you might get pranced on by the goats. This class was worth every minute although it went by so quickly! I recommend signing up for one of these if you get the opportunity! I had an absolute BLAST!

All proceeds from the event benefited the North Texas food Bank, another great reason to sign up.

Body Machine Fitness

Have you heard of Body Machine Fitness? They are a brand new gym in Plano and they officially opened their doors this weekend!  I had been following them on Instagram and Facebook for a few weeks and counting down until their opening so I could try them out. I took my first class with them on Sunday morning. First of all, I love that they are open on Sunday and that they have early morning classes, although I was told the time is going to get pushed back an hour but still it beats a late 10 am or 11 am class! (my class was at 7 am) A girl needs to get her workout in early and get on with her day!

I was impressed as soon as I walked in the door. This place looked amazing! I was greeted by enthusiastic and friendly staff eager to assist me. I had reserved my class on mindbody but they also have their own app called Body Machine Fitness where you can book your classes and reserve your starting spot based on the workout format. The format today was Full Body Circuits.  Each day the format is different, focusing on upper body, lower body and full body. And there are several class time options throughout the day. Plus each class accommodates 66 people! My workout consisted of treadmill intervals and a weight circuit.

I really enjoyed the workout and the energy in the class! Margaux, the founder and one of the owners described it to me like being in a night club! And she was right, there were fun lights and the music was loud (they have a DJ booth too but there was not a DJ there during the class I took). She even took the class with us! I also got a chance to meet one of the managers, JoJo.  He took the time to tell my more about BMF including their body fat analysis technology, the amazing amenities in their fancy locker room, and their supplements, including vegan protein!

Post Workout Feels and a BMF photo op!

Another thing I love about Body Machine Fitness is the smoothie bar! There are so many smoothie and smoothie bowl options to choose from. You can even put in your order BEFORE your workout and it will be ready for you when you are done! Say what?!? How cool is that! I opted to try a smoothie bowl. Oh my gosh, it was DELICIOUS! They have a large lounge area inside and outside where you can hang out too. I could have stayed here all day.

I highly recommend that you try this place out! They are offering free classes now until-July 14th! Class times are 5 am, 6:15 am, 9:45 am, and 6 pm. And your first smoothie is on the house! You can sign up directly on their website or through the mindbody app: Even if you can’t make a class before July 14th your first one is still FREE!

**Update since my visit, class times have changed, please visit BMF for more info**

Girls weekend in Tulsa

I definitely feel like a road trip warrior, its becoming one of my favorite things to do lately! Now that school is out for the summer and I have plenty of vacation time to use up at work we have been planning more fun things to do outside of Dallas!

My mom, my daughter, and I went to Tulsa a couple of weekends ago for a girls weekend! This was the first time any of us have been to Tulsa and we can’t wait to go back! This trip served a few purposes: a girls weekend, a concert, casino time, and exploring the city. We spent 3 days/2 nights there and tried to make the most out of our time.

My mom booked us room at the River Spirit Casino Resort. The hotel is fairly new. It was very clean and the view from our room was AMAZING! As soon as we checked in, we were off to explore! (tip: you can always call and ask for an early check-in, most hotels will accommodate if there is a room available). Our first stop was Margaritville, what a fun addition to the hotel. I felt like I was off somewhere tropical. We hung out at the pool for a little while and then everyone went their separate ways.

My daughter went to meet up with some friends, my mom went off to gamble, and I booked a workout class at Title Boxing. I had done my research before the trip in order to find places close by to workout at. Title was less than 5 mins away from our hotel so it was perfect!

Most of our day Saturday was spent doing concert stuff.  We went to go see Luke Bryan on his Huntin’, Fishin’, Lovin’ Every Day tour at the BOK center. Luke is on tour this year with Brett Eldredge. Before our day got started I was able to sneak in a jog on the trail outside of the hotel. The hotel did have a gym but it was not impressive at all, I was actually disappointed but I was able to spend more time outdoors which was much better anyways.

My daughter and I meet a lot of other people at the concerts we go to, just like I make new friends at fitness events and we try to stay in touch online. Besides meeting up with friends in Tulsa, we bumped into some friends we met last year in Oklahoma City, and we made new friends who came from Arkansas and Kansas.

We all had pit tickets so we were right up by the stage in the very front. I also had a meet and greet Brett Eldredge – a gift from my family for mothers day. It was such an incredible night.

Even though we had a late night on Saturday, I did not want to waste any time not doing something! I woke up early on Sunday morning to go hiking at Turkey Mountain. They have some really neat trails and beautiful views that overlook the city and the river. It was early so the trails were very peaceful and quiet.

On our way back home we came back through Oklahoma City. Before getting on the road we needed food and caffeine! I found a cute place called Old School Bagel Cafe. This place was packed so I knew it was going to be good. And it did not disappoint.

We also stopped at the new Ferris Wheel, the University of Oklahoma and the Oklahoma City bombing memorial.

We had a blast on this trip, who knew there was so much to do in Tulsa!

Riviera Spa Review

I’ve partnered with Riviera Spa to bring you this post. All opinions remain my own.

I had the opportunity to visit Riviera Spa for full body massage. I scheduled my appointment on a day that I had taken off from work.

If you have not been to Riviera Spa before then it can be a little tricky to find the location since you can not see the spa entrance from the street. I circled around the shopping center a couple times before I finally decided to just park to get out and look. I ended up parking in the underground garage and I was still a little lost. I walked around for a couple of minutes until I found the spa. The area is very nice and there is a cute fountain out front in the atrium area.

Once I found the spa, I was greeted by very friendly employees as soon I walked in the door. The check in process was quick and simple (I had previously filled out my waiver online to save time) and I was immediately offered a beverage – wine, champagne, or cucumber water. Although the alcoholic beverages sounded tempting I opted for water. It was very refreshing!

After the staff brought me my beverage I was taken back to waiting area until my therapist was ready. I didn’t get to stay there long since it took me longer to find the spa then I had anticipated. The spa did recommend I arrive early. The room was so relaxing and comfortable and I was the only person in there. I definitely could have stayed there longer if time has allowed.

I have had massages at other places before and most of the time the therapist will end up putting more pressure then I want due to tight muscles but sometimes I just want to be pampered and relax. My therapist put just the right amount of pressure like I had asked and my massage was very relaxing. The room lighting and music was perfect too. I also got to have a hot towel put on my back which felt amazing! The massage was just what I needed after doing back to back workouts earlier in the morning at F45 ( click HERE to sign up for a FREE class) and Mac Speed and Strength. I highly recommend this spa to anyone looking for massage, they also have a salon where they do manicures, pedicures facials, and several other services. Of course, I cant wait to go back.  This would be a perfect spot to plan a girls day out!

You can check out their website here to see all of the services they offer!
